I really love your "Was/Is It Any Good" and "Worst MMO Ever" videos. I watch many of them over and over again. After I've absorbed each new video, while waiting for the next, I listen to it again each morning (I work night shift) when I'm trying to fall asleep.
I absolutely can't stand Twitch at this point. Every time I've tried to engage with its "askings" or ridiculous demands, I hate myself. I can respect if Josh likes Twitch better, but I can say for sure that as a viewer I generally only watch streams on YT now. If not the stream itself, the vod afterwards. I know I "miss out" on other streamers I enjoy... but I couldn't care less frankly as the experience trying to watch anything on Twitch is just infuriating.
Editor here, doc and reality TV in Hollywood. 150 hours of footage is like a full season of a TV show. Josh is right here on the editing. You couldn't pay me enough to work on that ever. Josh's mind knows what Josh's mind wants. It would be faster for Josh to just do it in every aspect.
I'm looking forward to proper YouTube videos soon then. I'm just surprised he kept the experiment going for so long.
He's right. I can't take live streams. I don't like twitch, I don't hop on to watch things live. I could barely get on twitch to support my friends streaming. I prefer the ol' youtube and watch when I want, leave when I want.
I think a cool thing he could do is stream like a day after a new video releases, so we can talk about the video, give feedback, ask about things left on the cutting room floor etc.
Absolutely not a pipeline. So many of us aren’t able to be on Twitch when streamer is live, and many wouldn’t want to anyway.
What about 50% Youtube, 20% Twitch, 15% Concentrated power of will?
Twitch is good because you can interact with your viewers, Twitch is bad because you have to interact with your viewers.

Creator/Director - Editor synergy is huge, and hard to explain. One Filmmaker I work with a lot once told me the first time I handed them an edit, they cried because they'd never had an editor get exactly what they wanted to show and how. To this day, when I work with them it's almost never more than hading over footage, some very general directions and one quick feedback loop at the end. Problem is, finding each other is tough. For the size of Josh's projects, doing a test run with a lot of editors to find one that gets him would be a huge undertaking, and very expensive.
Josh hear me out, what if you hire an editor to stream for you, than you can do both.
The correct answer is not to get an editor, the answer is to get a cloning facility
YouTube is a deskjob. Twitch is customer service.
I honestly prefer the wall between content creator and viewer.
