Devs are just Generating Optimization Now.. (f**k)

Gaming

Put Lego Batman in for best optimized game of 2026!!! 📢📢 This is a building problem over so many year as Devs have got more tools in order to bypass the optimization process to make games run well on our hardware. Now it is getting egregious. Just even the fact this was approved is mind-boggling. ==JOIN THE DISCORD!== https://discord.gg/xbVEkhPJ72 WB Games: https://youtu.be/xciD-Vz6T_Q?si=17pHafTCPGB3Utc1 https://youtu.be/gXD7WquBKrI?si=O8hRistHuhYKbjel DC: https://youtu.be/j5ha2VwHJCw?si=9YWq-JewH5b1ARZt IGN: https://youtu.be/N_WV2G3LE7I?si=fvyF3aAve8W9MTWO https://www.pcworld.com/article/3108271/steam-is-building-a-game-performance-estimator-for-your-pc.htmlhttps://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/dlss3-ai-powered-neural-graphics-innovations/ https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/40-series/?deeplink=tab-con--4 https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/50-series/ https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/rtx-5060-desktop-family-laptop-5060-coming-soon/ https://borderlands.2k.com/borderlands-4/news/pc-specs-and-features/ https://help.bethesda.net/#en/answer/68551 https://www.monsterhunter.com/wilds/en-us/game-quality-upgrade/ https://x.com/LEGODCGame/status/2050259053641621918?s=20 https://www.polygon.com/features/22891555/lego-star-wars-the-skywalker-saga-has-led-to-extensive-crunch-at-tt-games/ 0:00- make it stop 0:50- how we have arrived here 4:00- Lego Batman.... 6:50- generating from 15 to 30 FPS 9:31- this is backwards... 10:18- They wanted this 12:34- skill issue 14:41- self-fulfilling prophecy 16:48- how do they approve this?

Lego Batman requires upscaling and frame gen for 4k60fps even if you have a 9070XT. For perspective, on my 9070XT, I was able to run RE9 at 4k60fps without upscaling or frame gen at maxed out settings without Ray Tracing, but with Ray Tracing maxed I needed 'Quality' FSR upscaling but still no frame gen.

There is one game running on unreal engine 5 that is amazingly optimized AND still looks amazing- satisfactory. Even tho it isn’t supposed to look good and doesn’t need to it still has incredible visuals for a normal open world game, not even a factory game. And I can run ultra settings on a 300 hour save with a lowly 4050 gpu

I have played at 30 fps all my life so getting more frames doesnt mean much to me but this is a HUGE ISSUE meaing worse on bad pcs like mine

8:20 the fact that i can FEEL THE FLOATINESS just from looking at your mouse/screen, when im not even the one playing, tells a lot

Unreal slop engine is the worst thing that happened to industry, everything made on it looks blury, wet and colors contrast is blown tf out.

4:00 The whole Batman Arkham Trilogy runs on Xbox 360 and PS3 hardware and obviously looks much better than any LEGO game. 🗿

When GTX 1080 was the top thing, i thought "in the near future GPUs will get so powerful that we'll all be playing in 4K 60FPS" 10 years later and we're playing in 360p upscaled to 1080p, in 30 FPS of which half are AI generated.

AAA games no longer AAA when they're not building/using their own engine, they're nothing more than indie devs that just charges us more than indie devs

Am I completely ignant or is the native fps the maximum rate at which you can activate an input? I didn't really know that CPU>Render Queue>GPU>Display path at 2:34. It just seems intuitive, that a game running at 30 native that's frame gen'd up to 240 can only get inputs submitted at 30fps.

I know someone that resently graduated and got into the game dev job market, and the main takeout is that there are a bunch of people (specially up in the chain) that just dont know what they are doing. He got told that "oh yeah, you can use lumen and nanite as much as you want, we love those", their project aparently runs like ass.

2006: games are 720p 30fps 2026: games are 720p 30fps

Unreal Engine now has the same problem that Unity once had. A lot of indie devs worked with Unity, sometimes unexperienced and also not the capacity to optimize everything, even the fact that the Unity Engine can absolutely be fast. But reality was a lot of unoptimized poorly running game. Now because of how "easy" you can work with Unreal Engine all those people now use Unreal Engine, resulting in the same poorly created unoptimized games. But maybe that teaches some people that a game not automatically run good or looks good because it is made with Unreal.

this is a nightmare for gamers like me that get easy motion sick when frames are low and input lag goes higher. Its a really bad time for us

I have done the math, and it is possible to make a game engine that could run on an RTX 2070, 12gb ram, and Ryzen 3600 with fully path-traced lighting. Of course, you would be looking at 30fps at native 1080p with that hardware, and 60fps with DLSS balanced, but that's better than a lot of unreal 5 games. The only major hurdle is that this engine would need to be built from the ground up on Vulkan to be as lean as possible.
