Wouldnt fix the amount of points being scored. The issue is the 6 again. Go back to awarding penalties so defense & attack restarts at the same tempo. Then introduce 5 or 2 minute sinbin as punishment for multiple infridgements. Teams are happy to give away six again, they will put in more effort to not leave their team a man down.
More rules means they have more control over the outcome π«

Wat was the average score in 1990s? Television deals have changed the game from defence to attack
Man i swear every rule they come out with no one even asks for. Fair enough some rules penalise players causing injury etc but some of these rules are just not needed. Makes our jobs as fans forever changing. So now we have to keep re adjusting "oh thats the rule now"
It'll lead to bigger blow out scores, the dominant team kicks off after scoring and pins the other team in their end, forces an error or turnover in attacking territory then score again and repeat, rarely having to start a set from inside their own 20.
How about you worry about the current rules being enforced, start with the walking off the mark to play the ball milking 6 agains, or being onside on all kicks not just try scoring plays π
6 again is killing the game !!! making the game faster just means survival of the fittestβ¦. letting the defense set up makes the game more interesting to watch alongside making better playersβ¦ which is good for the gameβ¦.

The score the other day when Roosters won by 82 points was staggering. They need to change the ball slightly little harder to kick take 1 meter out of the in goal on create the 23 restarts inside 23 are 4 tackles.
