The dry weather here in Ireland has sent the Blackbirds and thrushes looking sources of water and food. The ground is very hard and worms etc are in short supply. I seen it last year they never touched apples on a tree until November and this year they have already in July pecked the fruit on the same tree. Hunger is driving them mad

I sympathise with you, Chloe, sometimes it's not just what birds steal. I get Magpies nesting in the trees yards from my house. All day long they chase other birds away, and all you hear is their loud "Cack-Cack-Cack" call. It sounds like a machine gun, a noise that overpowers everything.
