You've reached the end
My instructor always taught me to look over my shoulder for my blind spot 😅
I didn't know that, I always check over my shoulder, but it can feel a bit frantic sometimes.
Never knew this advice Aman, I am going to start doing the same thank you for this as slip roads are hard ❤❤❤
I actually got in trouble for using the mirror to check a blind spot by my driving instructor. My dad drove firetrucks and had taught me this trick, but my instructor said it isn't safe to check that way in cars for some reason 🤷🏼♀️
always shoulder check.. what are we talking about?
I'm going to try that technique to see the blind spot
Oh wow I am literally like pia , thank you for this advice for driving the merger roads💖
Aman definitely 💯 percent the best instructor ever ❤❤❤
Great video 😊
I watch a few other instructors and there no where near as good as you Aman ❤
Pia you did the correct thing looking over your shoulder at the very start of the slip road, your ADI is teaching you wrong by saying dont do it. The point of a slip road is to build speed and judge your gap into the traffic. The only way to do this is that early shoulder check you did at the start, it allows you to see the speed of traffic on the road and gaps you can judge early. Remember, you dont have priority when merging from a slip road. it's your job to create your own gap. If you fail to do this, you must stop at the end of the slip road and give way to traffic on the main road, its not their job to give you space or even let you join. Coming from a HGV class 1 driver too many people don't do the early slip road checks and then panic when they eventually look and theres no gap in traffic. Those early shoulder checks make slip roads easy.
Yep, checks out. Most of the times when I'm merging into a curved lane I prefer bending forward to really get a good look through my side mirrors at the traffic coming in from the right side, and it works. Feels safer than taking your eyes off the road to look back.
From The Official DVSA Guide to Driving: "On occasion, it will be necessary to check blind spots while you're on the move. These blind spots will be to either side and should not require you to look round, but rather to give a quick sideways glance. Looking right round to check blind spots on the move is unnecessary and dangerous; especially when driving at high speeds; in the time it takes, you'll lose touch with whats happening in front. Regular and sensible use of mirrors will keep you up to date with what's happening behind. You will, however, still need to know when a glance into the blind spots is needed. Take a quick sideways glance: before changing lanes, before joining a motorway or dual carriageway from a slip road, before manoeuvring in situations where traffic is merging from the left or right.
I always keep eye on the right lane when joining. It avoids me having to check blind spot
Glasses and red hair 😂.. imma take the train
The people slating the way she’s teaching on here, Aman is driving instructor and professional, she’s not going to teach if it’s dangerous and unsafe.Aman is the best driving instructor I have seen teaching and even I want lessons with her.❤❤❤
That tip is gold!!
If you set your mirrors correctly, you shouldn’t have a big enough blind spot to need to lean forward like that much less look over your shoulder. Your side mirrors plus rear mirror should show a continuous view until a car appears in your peripheral view
Or just buy Stick-on blind spot mirrors there small, convex mirrors designed to attach directly to your car or truck’s existing side mirrors. simple
never liked this woman, i feel she doesnt know what shes talking about EVER
