The favorite food of the possum, is ticks. I've seen people shoot them for no reason which was a big mistake. This is a good animal to have around.

It's playing dead not actually dying
Unknown to me, one slept under my car and when I pulled out to drive off the fright sent it into fake death mode. It was huge! I called my neighbor to help because I was distraught I may have killed it. Just then a ginger cat spotted it and moved in to investigate. The possum sensing the threat woke up and walked into my yard where it has lived happily in my juniper trees since then. They are nice animals and they eat dangerous ticks. Once when I was sitting on my patio it chased away a raccoon and then looked at me like “oh sorry did not know you were out here this late; I will leave you to it.” ❤
