I’m still somehow blaming this one on the American education system.
“If they can choose to feed you, they can choose to starve you.”
"1000s of chickens. Quack quack quack" 😅
Everyone wants to live in a cottage in the forest, but if we all did, the forest would just be another city with a wasteland left behind
I was a stay at home for 8 years. We have 6 acres, I bake sourdough and have chickens. My husband and I got married at 21. I definitely could have been considered trad. I got my nursing degree and now work part time. Not because my husband has divorced me, but because my husband and I both were like how the heck could I provide for the kids if something happens to him. People never think about that. I’m super grossed out by the people who are encouraging teenage pregnancy. I’ve seen that online more frequently.
Tradwives are the other side of the manosphere coin: They both recognize capitalism isn't working, but blame feminism and leftists instead of the real culprit
He might leave, he might also die.
it’s crazy that they think being stupid is a flex
I think a big part of the appeal is the anxiety that a lot of young women feel about the job market and economic prospects. I am 31, a mom, and have a successful career and a degree. I would not want to be starting over as a 19 year old in today's economic and social landscape. I think for many, it's easier to consider simply never "having to work" as long as you can keep a man happy. That feels easy at 19 because, well, let's be real, it's not hard to make most men happy as a 19 year old woman. But they fail to realize that it doesn't stay easy...
My grandma tells me constantly to never rely on a man or anybody else to care for me because nobody else can care for me like I can. Her father taught her that and she discovered that truth when my grandpa divorced her. She luckily had a job that was able to support herself and her family(my mom and aunts and uncle). Never ever *have* to rely on someone else when someone else could leave.
19 and 29 years old... yeah, that fails the "half your age plus seven" check. Nope.
As I like to say: The Internet was a mistake. Billions of people were never meant to have ready access to a megaphone to air out their idiotic ideas to the other billions.
As a Swede I just want to clarify that Romina Pourmokhtari also got a lot of backlash from not taking the maternaty leave she's entitled to. That taking her baby to that meeting sends the signal to other Swedish parents that you shouldn't take the time of work that the government allows.
Hahahahaha never be 100% reliant on anyone period.
who better to target than impressionable children
The line "if women are naturally submissive they would have submitted by now" is so simple but just a great argument
I mean, even if you're 100% sure your man won't divorce you, things still happen. People get sick, like terminally. People die, even really young people. People get laid off. You absolutely cannot give up your independence and personhood at 19
The irony is that the trad wife isn't actually traditional. Traditionally, women also worked to keep the house in order/bring in food and multiple generations lived on one large plot of land rather than a single nuclear family.
Remember that your brain isn‘t fully developed until 25. So before that you are literally not fully capable to grasp the long term consequenses that marrying and getting children early entail. There is a reason why a certain type of men always want to marry young women and get them pregnant young
The only reason I make bread is that it tastes better but I do sometimes buy bread from the store
