I wasn't sure whether to post this or not, since it's not the most positive video (warning: lots of complaining), but I wanted to share my honest experience of pregnancy so far. I literally treated this vlog as my personal diary from week 5 to week 13 π I'm so thankful to be pregnant and have a healthy baby, but I definitely struggled during those first few months. If this makes one person feel less alone, I'll be happy π For all those that are currently in their first trimester - I'm thinking of you and praying for you! You will get through it!! Rachel! Iβm sure others have reminded you, but just because you wanted pregnancy and a family or just because other people have it harder doesnβt take away the fact that youβre experiencing hard things β€ Pregnancy IS hard, even when itβs exactly what you prayed for. I was pregnant with my second baby this time last year, in the throws of the first trimester. Sheβs 4 months now and itβs crazy how quickly things fly by and how quickly youβre willing to do it all over again. Praying for you and your sweet baby! β€
Sweetheart everything your feeling is perfectly normal your not complaining your not ungrateful your growing a new life and it's really hard mentally and physically just give yourself some grace your doing amazing β€
Mom of two here ππ» let me tell you, pregnancy is HARD. And we are human. It is ok to be grateful and miserable at the same time, in fact I encourage it. Donβt suppress your emotions out of guilt, you love your baby and will appreciate the journey it took to get to them when theyβre here but that doesnβt mean you will enjoy every second of it. The same is true of parenthood. I love my girls with my entire heart and have felt joy unlike any other Iβve ever experienced in my life over their existence, but some days still suck and are hard. Two feelings can be true at once. Couldnβt be happier for a stranger on the internet! Your body was made to go through all of these things and more, women are superhuman β₯οΈ
Sweet girl, show yourself some grace! You're doing great!!β€
to quote my younger self: complain nicely in other words its ok to complain if it is done in a way that is grateful, understanding, and kind. And you are doing that.
I usually donβt comment, but I wanted to say that I love that you are being very real and honest about your pregnancy and your feelings. There will most likely be to be moms watching this and feel very similar to you and be comforted by the fact theyβre not alone (and you arenβt either!). I canβt wait to see more videos about your journey, and I hope youβre feeling better π«Άπ»π«Άπ»π«Άπ»
I am so emotional even just typing this comment, but this is EXACTLY what I needed to watch. I'm currently in my 1st trimester feeling incredibly nauseous and sick while trying to take care of a 20 month old. This video was so validated and honestly helped me so much. Thank you for being willing to be vulnerable and share your experience β€
Pregnancy is hard!! Itβs the hardest thing women go through. Even when the baby arrives, postpartum recovery is another journey to go through. Donβt ever feel guilty for sharing the discomfort!!! Women get through this togetherrrrrrr
Oh Rachel. I love you so very much. I had my second baby in December of 2025. It took months for us to convince. I spent a lot of time begging the Lord for our girl and when I finally got pregnant, I was miserable. I also felt so terrible for wishing the time away that I prayed and pleaded with God for. Seeing you battle yourself was SO relatable. I so wished I had this video when I was in my 1st trimester. This was extremely real and I appreciate the vulnerability it took to post it. Iβm so glad youβre feeling better! π«Άπ½
Your early cramping was probably implantation. Pregnancy is such a miracle but also such a scary time for sure. Iβll be praying for you and your little peanut β€
Pregnancy is NOT for the weak lol Give yourself some grace for sure. All of mine had different struggles and symptoms and were completely unique. But, like you said, I always somehow just knew I was pregnant. I am so stinking happy for you and your husband. What a blessed adventure!
Iβve been WAITTTTTTING THIS FOR. And 53 minutes ππ weβre spoilt! β€
thank you for your honesty and being so brave to share. so glad you are feeling better now!
As a scrapbook girlie, I think you should make a scrapbook about your baby to give to your baby! The day you found out, their first Christmas, Easter, and birthday, etc. I've seen some girlies do this on TikTok, if you need some inspo! You've got this, you're such a strong, beautiful woman, and you're going to be a great mumπ
Everyone be quiet MY SHOW IS ONβ€
I had my daughter a year and a half ago and my first trimester was basically a mirror image of yours, down to the fear of opening the fridge. Sending you a huge hug, I feel for you, it's brutal. Also, its totally ok to feel thankful for the pregnancy whilst acknowledging how hard it can be, that doesn't make you ungrateful. If a good friend was pregnant and saying all of these things to you, you'd never think that they were ungrateful, be easy on yourself. Your body is literally creating a miracle, a whole new life, whilst also creating a whole new organ in your own body! It's working constantly, be kind to yourself. Rest. I promise it will get easier, I can't guarantee when, but in the meantime lean on people, allow your loved ones to help. Every day is a step closer to your perfect baby π€
This video will be so validating for so many people and the more we share these brutally honest experiences, the more is known about it. Soo glad youre feeling better. This took me back to my first trimester surviving on marmite toast and a snack box of crackers, nuts and dried fruit at my work desk. The primal avoidance of the fridge is a crazy way of our bodies protecting us from spoilt food to protect the baby. But It doesnt translate as well in this day and age. Hope your skin improves soon.
Thank you for sharing β€
You are so deserving of this and are gonna be a great mom !
FIRST!! craziest refresh pull <33 love ya lots rachel! congrats on the baby! God bless your family <33
