What about converting the garage to more living space and then putting a carport or a garage in front of your existing garage? You could have access at the bottom of your stairs into the garage space and you could have a room and a bathroom put in there and then you could treat it like a "visitor's apartment" kind of or turn it into office space and then you could use your upstairs bedroom as a second bedroom for more kids! You could also potentially move your washer and dryer out there and then use the space where your washer and dryer is now to expand your bathroom or to make a second closet for your bedroom!

I think medicine cabinets are so underrated in modern design. I don’t like seeing my toothbrush and toothpaste etc. decorative mirrors are pretty but medicine cabinets, esp in small spaces, are indispensable!! I love the chrome one you have and you can’t find those now… but I get it the aesthetic choice.

McKenna it’s a really good idea when you have the toilet taken off of the drain that you stuff a rag down in it just enough so that it keeps the sewer gases from coming back up into the room

We just did a small bathroom reno, too! Something to consider: my plumber said he opts not to silicone around the bottom of the toilet because if you do have a leak under there, it can trap the water inside and you won't even know about it while it's doing damage. Better to see water immediately if there is a failure in the seal, etc.

I for one love her Cali home.💛 The gardens alone are a dream. I believe the cottage to be a waste of money. She could have renovated her entire California home with the money spent on buying and renovating the unfinished cottage. She should sell it as soon as the market is in her favor to get her moneys worth. The only true value is the youtube views and growth it gave her. It must be hard on her having this massive unfinished project everyone keeps asking about. People need to stop asking for the cottage and appreciate the content she puts out. People evolve, plans change, priorities shift, things are paused while real life demands happen. Also, the economy is in shambles. It’s a time to save and stick to small projects and her candle business. She has her reasons for not returning. I love your charm MaCenna, your quirks, your wit and spirit. Your whole vibe is worth watching. The simpler the reno or craft, the calmer you are and the more enjoyable it is to watch.

Medicine cabinet is the bomb in a small bathroom. Love it and there are some very nice ones to replace that one.
