Another World Cup semi-final, another defeat for England. Manager Thomas Tuchel has been praised all tournament for his bravery in making big decisions but has been criticised for being 'cowardly' in his substitutions and set up after scoring the first goal against Argentina, which many believe costed the Three Lions the game. Host Simon Jordan is joined by former England captain John Terry, who share agreement that England's loss was solely down to the managers 'negative' subs, as he brought on defenders for midfielders and tried to hold on to the lead. John called it one of the "worst tactical decisions" he had ever seen and says yesterday has made him question Tuchel's status as an 'elite manager'. Graeme Souness, former Tottenham player and Scotland international, however believes the main responsibility lies with the players - believing they need to seize the game earlier and not capitulate after the goal goes in. Graeme says Tuchel's main point of criticism should lie with the initial squad that he brought. 00:00 - Introduction 01:17 Graeme Souness argues England have not been very good this World Cup and that Tuchel is not solely to blame 02:59 John Terry slams Thomas Tuchel and argues he was a 100% to blame 04:48 Graeme Souness says Declan Rice and Elliot Anderson are ‘limited’ footballers and that Rice is a “centre half” that doesn’t have enough football in him 08:44 John says attacking subs were needed with Romero and Martínez on yellow cards 10:45 Graeme calls Rice and Anderson steady Eddy’s 11:49 The panel react to Thomas Tuchel’s pre-tournament comments about Southgate’s sides being scared of losing 13:05 John Terry reveals Kaka told him at 60 minutes there was no chance England won this game 15:58 Graeme Souness claims this is one of the most average group of players England have brought to a tournament in years 22:02 Graeme, John and Simon clash over if the players were to blame last night and if Tuchel picked the wrong players 29:25 Should Thomas Tuchel stay on as England manager? 35:24 Simon and Graeme clash over Kobbie Mainoo 37:03 Is there an England striker problem on the horizon? 39:14 The panel discuss Spain vs Argentina 42:50 Will this final end the Ronaldo vs Messi debate? 46:22 Graeme gives his view on Jude Bellingham’s response to Gabriel Clarke after Norway 48:27 Will the panel watch the 3rd place playoff? Where is Piers? 😂😂
That comment from Souness that you only run with the ball because you can’t see the pass quick enough, is so astute.
I agree with Graham, no playmaker in the midfield
Souness is speaking sense here about that England overrated midfield
Thank you Graeme Souness for calling out Declan Rice... Running around the pitch doesn't make you world class , this guy I swear gets overhyped for doing the most basic things , he is nowhere near Rodri
Souness: It is pogba’s fault
Messi did an interview after the game and he said we could see they did not want it
The players were cowards and then the manager joined in.
Graeme is 100% right about the midfield. They couldn’t control games in the group stage. What chance did they have once they played a proper team.
Piers is still recovering 😂
I am an Irish man, and we had Souness doing WC punditry for years. I love his insight, and honesty.
Souness looking younger than he did when he was managing Liverpool 30 years ago!!
The players escaping any criticism is hilarious
Kane defending in his own penalty box says it all
We STOPPED playing FOOTBALL... and started playing DEFENCE... 💯
Prob the best analysis of what happened to England last night, whatever your take. Added to that, Souness looks frigging amazing for 73.
Wow...really impressive analysis from Souness....finally someone who actually understood the real problem.
The fact Henderson went at all ..ahead of others left at home, tells you all you need to know about Tuchel's abilities. Get him gone.
A fresh Kobbie Mainoo coming on would have been an improvement on a knackered Declan Rice.
Graeme has a point - the players collapsed first.
