Fun fact: the Pantera originally came with a 351 Cleveland, and I’m pretty sure they switched to a 351 Windsor after the Cleveland stopped being produced. Also, some mustangs in 1995 (I’m pretty sure that’s the year) came with a modified 351

Detomaso at one point had a partnership with Carroll Shelby, the partnership ended and he released his first car, the Mangusta(Mongoose-Cobra killer). That and the story behind the Devil Z (Wangan Midnight) is actually based around a Pantera that was imported to Japan to set a record. Powered by a modified Nascar Cup car engine, it was prone to being one of the most dangerous cars at the time to be driven. The guy who built the motor also is presumed deceased after getting tangled up with the government and cartel in the late 80s

I had the opportunity to ride around in a detomaso pantera at my job and it quite literally felt like a cardboard box with a screaming v8 strapped to your back and yes i mean strapped to your back. You could feel EVERYTHING.
