Poppy, when you get cut flowers home and you’re making bouquets, always trim the stem. Plants see that cut like our body would and try to seal it and heal it. Unfortunately, it can make the water not be able to get to the actual flower head and shortens the life of the blossom. And try to use really sharp scissors so that it makes a clean cut, instead of pinching it. That will also aid in the water getting where it needs to go! It’ll make your bouquets last so much longer! And we have a poppy here that’s very similar to to what you got, the stems are the same but the blossom is a bit smaller. But it also looks like it’s made from tissue paper. Almost as if it’s not real. And that first field with the yellow flowers with the blue blue sky and white fluffy clouds was absolutely stunning! Makes me want to visit Brighton! Here in California we get California poppies and they grow in some areas as far as the eye can see. They’re orangey gold and yellow. It’s so so beautiful. I have photos on my phone. I wish I could show you. I know you’d love them!

Oh and Poppy I don't wear gardening gloves either! I think there is actually some scientific evidence for the benefit of not wearing gloves...there is a bacteria in the soil called mycobacterium vaccinae which is absorbed from exposure to soil, which activates a group of neurons containing serotonin. So it makes us happier! Being exposed to the microbes in the soil also boosts our immune systems and gut microbiome diversity 🤓

Hi, I think you would love an app called Merlin, you set it recording and it tells you the birds that it hears. You can get quite addicted, be great whilst walking in the woods x

As someone, who's family is in agriculture, I would not go in the rapeseed fields(the yellow field), they most likely have been sprayed with fertilizer, a harsh chemical. That being said, many people do and its fine, in most cases, it looks so beautiful. Always is a sign that summer is just one step away.

That is Rapeseed oil and it is very dangerous because it causes hay fever💁‍♀️

that’s a blackbird singing. They seem to do that song in the warmer months. At least that’s what happens here in Tasmania (they’re introduced but they sound nice at least)

In Australia yellow fields are canola fields, they are used to make cooking oil and butter.

Blackbirds sing beautifully.
