You got this Kristi! I recommend getting frozen berries for overnight oats/porridge/chia seed pudding. Make your own stewed fruits instead of jam and use honey in it for it's anti inflamatory properties. And get frozen spinach and shove it in everything! Lasagne, spaghetti bolognese, chilli, stews, ramen and omelette/scrambled egg. It's endless what you can put it in and you don't notice it. A plus side to frozen berries and spinach is it's waaaaay cheaper and you don't have to eat everything so quickly before they go off. Also spiced baked pears or caramelised banana on porridge is soooo good! They spruce up what would be boring. Dates make everything sweet without sugar. I struggle because I love breakfast food like a sausage or bacon sandwich and these helped. Have you seen the greek yogurt flatbreads? Literally yogurt and flour. I make them all the time. Marinate chicken for flavour so it's not a boring salad. Hopefully these little tips will help 🥰 and haven't come across preachy. X

Yasss queen this is the way I eat and I legit eat as much as I want because the thing is sticking to this approach to food… the “want” sorts itself out when you’re not deprived and you are getting all food groups! No food after dinner & mostly whole or minimally processed food and weight fell off me and has stayed off. If you eat and are still hungry just eat more but eat more whole foods, almond butter fruit etc and eventually your brain trusts you aren’t going to “diet” AND you are getting the nutrients so satiety signals stabilise! ❤️
The biggest and most crucial part of weight loss is calories. You can have the healthiest meal in terms of nutrients but if that super healthy meal is pushing your calories out for the day it will not keep you in a deficit. I was like you trying to find a magic solution but it really all came down to food tracking and really understanding my maintenance and deficit calories. Sending you luck on your journey!

My husband gifted the both of us Function Health and it’s incredible to see what’s going on with our bodies. Especially as first time parents, being able to understand what we can change now to increase our life span with our son and be the healthiest and happiest version of ourselves for him is what makes us want to do big lifestyle changes.
Chia seed pudding!!! Mix 1/4 cup of chia seeds with 1 cup of coconut milk - then once that all absorbs I add about 1/4 cup of ground flax seed! And pair with fruit. Not sure the calories but good for fiber and omega 3 intake
So happy you are focuding on your health ans trying to be healthier. I have lost some weight without really trying and like you I stopped all process foods and focus on healthy fatty foods ans barely eating any fruits, I consider them dessert ans by the time I finish I am usually full. Trying to wait a little longer to break-fast might also help. A good 12 hours in between the last time you ate the night before could be beneficial! Good wishes and we know you can do it!! I've been listening to Dr. Boz and checking ketones and blood sugar 1st thing in the morning. Metabolic diseases and disorders come by keeping blood sugars low and ketones elevated. My anxiety and depression has taken too much of my life from me. Now, I'm 43, and if my body is out of ketosis....I feel like I'm living my old life. My sister has the ninja creami and she barely uses it. It's annoying that you need to freeze it before hand and it doesn't make much, deff one that will sit in the cabinet.
Would love to see more of what you cook and going over more processed foods and what to look out for!
Something that has been really helpful for my husband is using a continuous glucose monitor paired with his Oura ring. He’s not diabetic, but his numbers were getting into the pre-diabetes range. It’s so helpful to know which foods spike your blood sugar as well as understanding how factors like sleep and stress impact it as well. He has to purchase the monitors himself, but he says it’s worth it to have the information.
