South Yorkshire Police have released footage of a lorry swerving across the M18 motorway after the driver fell asleep. Officers were in an unmarked HGV when they saw the vehicle veering onto the hard shoulder numerous times, on one occasion almost hitting a stationary van. After bringing it to a stop, police found several empty energy drinks cans in the cab, which the driver had been using to try to stay awake. The force said he was dealt with for the offences.
