Pastis are delicious
Montello NV is armpit. I drove thought it many times.
Love it! Thank you!
Hi, we traveled through Elko and called into the Cornish pasty place, I chatted to a young lady there about the Cornish miners' connection. I lived in Cornwall for many years and have written books and talked on podcasts about Cornish industrial heritage and culture. The Cornish emigrated all over the world with their mining skills and culture, including to Columbia, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and, of course, the US. We have traveled to many places in the USA with a Cornish connection, these have included Mineral Point, WI, and Grass Valley in California. Excellent channel by the way👍
Cool, I am getting older watching is my escape.
Thank you for posting this interesting video. I would not want to buy land there because of summer heat and wind, but......some developer will discover it with the mountain views and put up a subdivision of multi million dollar homes considering that so many people are wanting to leave the big crowded cities and move to and near small rural towns. Enjoy camping while you can. These nice places don't last.
Thanks for a good start God bless ur channel
cool spots!
Spot 3 for sure.
I just love the mountainous terrain in Nevada. I wouldn’t ever want a parcel of acreage to be less than 10 acres. If I were ever considering to build a home, I wouldn’t want less than 100 acres with a beautiful view of mountain ranges. 👍🏼
it's gorgeous perfect for those that don't like a whole lot of people
The Mountain View’s in Nevada are AMAZING. 👍🏼
Thank you. I am glad your channel is doing well! I have been watching you from before you were married!
#4 would be a nightmare with all the roads traversing the property. Especially during hunting season. Any thing of value will be stolen as soon as you leave. N half of NV is absolutely brutal in Winter, windy, snow and some of the lowest temp records -25-40 below zero F. #3 would is my fav for a late Spring-Fall location. #1 has the best year round access. Neighbors can be a blessing or a curse. Excellent advice on viewing the property multiple days/time. Crazy to buy property sight unseen! You need to look carefully at the road easements to determine if you can legally access the property. Every county has a parcel viewer map would be my first stop or go to the county seat and review the paper records. Many cheap properties are land locked, so don't assume the cow path is the proper route if you see a road on Google Earth. It would be helpful if you gave the cell carrier. Many areas of rural NV may only have one cell carrier and not unusual to drive 100 miles without a signal.
Love the channel been watching a long time and I often wonder about one thing. I’m 65 and spent many years where you go and twice I’ve had to use bear spray. Both grizzlies with cubs. If you walk around with nothing your day is coming.
If the train tracks are shiny, there are trains. If they are rusty, then not (frequently).
Ha! I stayed at that motel last summer. We were checking out the climbing crag called devils playground that’s east of Montello. A guide book had just been published and we ran into the developers at the city of Rocks. Not much going on in that area, but that’s why some are there. The folks we met there owned the hotel or store or lived in trailers nearby. I thought that it could definitely be a tiny home/trailer/camper possibility, but also that I’d look around more. No trees seemed undesirable.
trees is the biggest plus
BEWARE.... LAWS CHANGE.....ZOMBIE LOTS......Properties in Nevada that cannot be built on, particularly small rural lots, are often referred to as "zombie lots". The Nevada Department of Taxation formally classifies such land as "Vacant - Splinter" or "Vacant - Other Unbuildable". I've had one I was going to retire on purchased in the 1980s. Now its non build lot. I could build on then but not now. BEWARE......
I liked the first one near Montello. A couple acres is all I would want and being able to see the town, even if it is small, is a plus. I like being able to see far and wide and the price is good. The larger towns weren't that far and you can make a day outting to shop when needed.
