This going to sound super strange- grab a piece of bread and use it as a broom when you shatter glass- it will scoop up more than the vacuum! I shattered a patio table top and my friend who does housekeeping recommended that- worked!!!
I had a calendar gap my 2nd year during the peak summer season in the UP of Michigan. No Harvest host availability or state park openings- mentioned it to a local and they recommended the casino in Christmas MI- saved my behind!! I was so grateful for a safe, level place to park for 2 nights

We stayed at that winery a couple of years ago and it was wonderful then. It looks as though they have made some significant improvements. We may have to go back.

In January, only 20 months into full timing, I missed a day and had to move on short notice. 11:45 AM on Monday and camp host informs me they had me checking out. I say "me" because Sharon was visiting kids and I was to pick her up at 5 PM at Sky Harbor in Phoenix. We were at Lost Dutchman in Apache Junction AZ and I though we were moving on Tuesday. I picked up camp and secured the rig myself in an hour, dumped, hooked up the Jeep, fueled and drove 90 miles to Catalina SP near Tucson, dropped the rig and got back to PHX as her plane flew over me!

Here's what we just did yesterday. In preparation for our Florida to Alaska trip beginning later this month, we booked our local state park for a shakedown trip. Yesterday, we packed out and made the short ride home. I looked at our paperwork as I was throwing it away and noticed we had actually booked for three nights, not two nights. We headed home a day early!
We only adventure with our camper, not even part timers…. Two times I’ve messed up dates. One time the state park found us a spot. The other time we weren’t even in the camper but I messed up the dates of a condo stay! We upgraded and got a place in the same resort. Live and learn 😊

We were at Demonico a couple of years ago. We loved the place but the service wasn’t great. It was a younger guy who I don’t think wanted to be there. It looks like you had a much better experience. Glad to see that
Been there done that!And we were out touring around when the next guest arrived at our spot. The camp phoned us...and of course they called our home phone number 1000km away and we didn't answer! Luckily what they did was book the folks in a different site and extended our stay one day. We were mystified when we returned and the fellow across from us said we were in his site! Couldn't believe we were off a day. Often I'm confused when on line bookings talk in two tongues as Number of nights. I like when they use "Arrival" date and "departure" date. That's pretty clear. Same when they say rig length when what they mean is total length with tow vehicle or toad.

Yes! I did it last year! But our campground was able to let us stay an extra night thank goodness! I panicked for a few minutes though!
What was your big hurry? You missed Cummins Falls, Cumberland Caverns, Burgess Falls, Fall Creek Falls, Granville, Dale Hollow, Defeated Creek, Salt Lick, our wonderful little town of Gainesboro, Standing Stone and a whole lot more. We love Delmonico. Slow down you move too fast. You're retired, relax a little. I opened my door this morning and there were 3 deer. And not only that, there were a bunch more wineries around here you could have gone to while you were here. Cookeville has a couple of really nice parks and bike riding trails, in the summer you can take a blanket and go sit in the park and watch a movie. You should really take in a festival at Granville, take in the quilt shop and take in a meal on Saturday night at the historic Sutton Store and stay for the radio show that airs every Saturday night.
