The “you’re not supposed to say shut up” really hits hard, cause a child learns what being loved feels like, and what being bullied is like. So when a parent says or does something they recognise as bullying, they feel confused and betrayed. I’ve been there too, that confusion of “you’re not supposed to say that” is so real.
