AGREE on being a vegetarian on planes, I'm the same, people who eat seafood on planes are our bravest soldiers
vegetarian on planes is so real! i love meat on the ground but i’ll only maybe tolerate a boiling hot meat stew situation on a plane. the aspects that make meat good to me (freshness, carefully cooked, never overdone) are effectively impossible with plane meals, not to mention the gastrointestinal risk. that being said i actually like most of the plane meals I’ve had, minus like one chicken pasta situation that was simultaneously too bland and too mustardy. if you’re still on the “plane food is sooooo bad” train i challenge you to bring one of your very favorite snacks on the plane and eat it after at least 90 minutes at cruising altitude. it’ll be so much worse than on the ground, your senses are so incapacitated, i find it SO impressive that plane meals manage to be as decent as they are (post 2000s/2010s) when we’re trying to serve hundreds of people in a 30-minute meal distribution period with very limited space and zero conventional cooking equipment.
Fellow plane vegetarian here! 😅 I got SO sick once eating plane meat (landed in Paris and spent the whole car ride to the city with my head between my legs to keep from hurling). That was when I was 10 and I haven't had plane meat since.

They want Yu at the airport three hours before an international flight, but then if delayed you're stuck there for even longer. I live in CT and fly out of LaGuardia and I get there an hour before my flight and almost never wait, by the time I get to the gate they are already boarding. It's cutting it too close so I think I'm gonna plan for an extra hour going forward. Safe travels everyone 😊
