You've reached the end
You can safely do this if you remove the driveshaft to the rear differential.
This is an AWD ( All-Whell-Drive ) car, which means the front and rear wheels are connected together via a spinning shaft that transmits the power between them. Putting the transmission in neutral will in fact disconnect the engine from the drivetrain, but the problem is that the two shafts driving the wheels still are connected together, therefore locking the front one while leaving the rear one to spin freely will shatter the drivetrain. Though as mentioned, you can do this safely if you disconnect the driveshaft from the rear differential and remove it.
ive towed subies like this, drive shaft comes off in like 8 bolts dont even need to jack it up
So you've never heard of removing the drive shaft?
This is actually safe if you adjust the Bingus shaft and remove the Snorp bar.
That is NOT a tow truck. That is a truck towing, completely different things. One is a profession.
I don’t know what’s more impressive the fact that I didn’t know you could just remove(disengage) a driveshaft or the fact that so many people know Edit: ty for the love y’all, but still…common knowledge ain’t that common 😂
Some people are really unaware of vehicles.
On some models You can switch from AWD to FWD by disconecting the driveshaft, it has a extra lever for that... So it wont do anything to the car
Whenever when you have a Subaru always request a flat bed tow truck
Me when I forget not all Imprezas came with AWD:
AWD = has a center diff alongside the two axle diffs that splits power between the two axles, 4WD has a transfer case that engages/disengages 4WD. so if youre not flat towing, disengage 4WD mode and put it in neutral, or on an AWD vehicle, theres a lock that the towing company and dealership knows that disengages the center diff from both axles. it wont immediately destroy anything bc theres always an *implied* risk at high speed for an AWD vehicle, thats why they added that lock in place to prevent damage to the transmission.
personal truck pulling a car dolly dude definitely disconnected the driveshaft 😭
Not even a tow truck. Someone using a car dolly. Probably just dropped the driveshaft
it depends on the year, but if its pre 2005 subarus had a fuse you could pull to make it fwd.. i did this to save gas during the summer
Damn in bozeman too that sucks
And not a tow truck, just a normal guy towing a car with his truck..
And it's not a tow truck it's a car dolly
u can pull a fuse to shift the transfer case to fwd in some of them
Lol, that’s actually the owner that’s not a tow truck.
