You've reached the end
This is what happens when engineers forget reality exists.
It's a good idea in theory but they slip a lot and all of the friction they cause makes them run hot and they are inefficient.
I watched a lot of transmission repair videos. And not a single technician likes a CVT transmission in any way shape or form.
"No! I want the car with a CVT!" said nobody in history, ever, and for a good reason.
So those lego gears would be an upgrade for a Nissan CVT then...got it.
The worst transmission ever thought of. The only reason manufacturers use them is that they are guaranteed time bombs wich means more money for them.
The basic principle of a CVT was first sketched in 1490 by Leonardo da Vinci. This transmission was first introduced in cars by DAF in 1958. It used a simple belt, sometimes referred to as a garterbelt. The develpoment shown here is of a much later date '70's - '80's by e.g. Subaru and Fiat and currently as Xtronic en Multitronic.
The most unreliable gearbox human kind ever designed
Great for mopeds. Absolutely rubbish for cars 😂
CVTs in cars suck and everyone i have ever drive felt like it was always hunting for the right position.
Worst transmission idea EVER!!! Literally every mechanic I've spoken to about this over four decades says the same thing: stays the hell away!
I'd never own another vehicle with one of those.
yet still to this day not a single engineer can figure out that cvt transmissions are GARBAGE
Just like snow mobiles
Toyota's eCVT utilzing planetary gears instead of bands, has been massively successful since its introduction in 1997.
Meanwhile a regular ass transmission just works without introducing a fraction of the entropy
Nissan has yet to figure out it is garbage.
Never buy a CVT transmission car. Especially a USED car with a CVT.
This works fine for a 2hp Bridgeport milling machine. It is hot garbage for an automobile.
In the sixties we called that a clutch and torque converter. It was in every snowmobile. And, it still is.
