We get the Chieftain MK11 back together after fixing several unexpected engine faults, make more progress on Dave the Centurion ARV thanks to @scottnagle2 coming over for the week! We also fit a new engine in our Gulf war centurion AVRE, continue upgrading our heavy haulage trailer with hydraulic ramps, and finally get the Combat Engineer Tractor (CET) steering and moving under its own power again. There’s plenty of problem-solving, fabrication and workshop progress as we push several huge projects one step closer to completion. We hope you enjoy coming along for another busy week!

If only the entire country had the competence, hard work and dedication of the Hewes team. And the good humour and banter is a bonus.
You guys are getting major shoutouts from mechanic Steve from Australian Armor and Artillery Museum. refers to L60 and your work.
It’s astonishing how many clever people you’ve got working there.
That bloke from Tears for Fears has kept himself well….😎
If Ted had been there to supervise that engine would have been cleaned properly.
Dude that Kelly’s heroes T-shirt with oddball on it with the “I’m drinking wine, eating cheese and catching some rays you know? Can’t get any cooler.
So impressed with you young people doing all this. All your knowledge is awesome! I’m a 60+ and love a big engine!😮
“That is tight” I am disappointed the running joke was not said 😂 ....
Fair play to Morris for the oil sponsorship and to Fruit stripe gum for sponsoring Jacks tattoos. 😁😁
So Joe, Is the raffle for the weapons carrier international or just for UK residents? I am in, if it is International! Do you have the answer?. I looked at their website and the entry flier. Raffall does raffles internationally... but is your's? Thank You in advance! Nice work on the Concrete Chieftain! Really looks and sounds great! Cheers!
Thanks Ted
Such an inspiring story of hard work and determination, the results are truly rewarding 💪✨👏
Never thought I'd see a Chieftain that doesn't leave an oil puddle underneath. That's probably the biggest achievement yet! 💪
I remember the Chieftains being a dominant force in Iraq, I went on to use the Challenger 1 main battle tank in Bosnia. That was a hell of a place..
I can’t believe these guys don’t have knee and back problems for all the time they spend bent over in the Bowles of these tanks. Mine is screaming just watching them!🙀🙀🙀
Quite safe to say your team has more engine in/out accomplishments than anyone working on tanks. Well done gentlemen.
“That is tight” I am disappointed the running joke was not said 😂
A lovely 'working-for-now' CET, followed by a Beautiful Cent AVRE, A wonderful tribute to the Corps of Royal Engineers....What a great post for a Sonntag mit bier, Ubique!

Nice to see you're keeping well hydrated while working on Dave in this heat. That's a lot of tins of Thatchers spilling off the back there
