1900s: money is pretty easy to make, cars are basically free. 2010s+: Money is hard to make, cars prices getting higher.

I do know cars are getting expensive there in America and the purchasing power is decreasing, but just a reminder 500 back then isn't the same as today. As obvious as that sounds... Americans somehow can never comprehend inflation. "Houses used to cost only 100 dollars!" Yeah when the pay was 0.1 cents a day.
