Don’t think yall understand. I’m a highschool qb (starting btw) and the reason he most likely did this was just because of his progression. If he sees a window that he can get the ball through, he’ll put it throw. Depending on the routes and progression changes. In this case the outside receiver (#1 receiver) was probably last in the progression. The first guy in the progression on rollouts is usually the guy closest to the qb. This would explain why the qb threw to another open man instead of the other. However, the qb should have looked at him and read the pre snap read.

If y'all ain't see that DB baiting him, y'all got to look , I promise he was baiting the QB, soon as he hike the DB. Ran over there and that the RED ZONE. ( Nor green or yellow zone). In other words the qb only had so much field, and that db was on top of that
