Base idea: Spread the diamond blocks around the entire map, the entire map IS the base, the base is only found if the seeker asks "is the entire map the base?", have a village for the person to look around in as a red herring
Idea: Your idea of just playing around with signs? Have a village full of signs, where you have to honeycomb one specific sign to unlock the secret base.

Idea for secret base: you have to go into survival mode with them and when they kill you, they get into the secret base (you can show signs of u taking damage to make it a bit easier)
Idea: Put a random item in a chest that seems helpful with a sign next to it saying "make sure you use this" but the item is actually completely useless and you actually need the chest to get to the secret base

The base Is kinda obvious once you find it but on the way are lava pools and if you jump in lava it locks for the next two to three minutes
