This sort of mod almost makes me wish there WAS a Minecraft mod that played the concept of ‘loading into an old Minecraft world to investigate a missing person’ straight. Everyone’s trying to be Minecraft Silent Hill 2 and no one’s trying to be Minecraft Sherlock Holmes.
i think this mod needed more bass boosted jeopardy music
i think its charming that all the "gross" images are actually quite harmeless. first it shows a pig simply sniffing another pig, then a guy on a restaurant cutting some chicken, then the "maggots" at the end are just meal worms that are often fed to animals and are even safe for humans to consume this is MILES better than putting actual gore images behind a pay-walled version of the mod... like others i dare not to mention
From what I've heard, this mod has a massive file size because literally every jumpscare sequence is stored as individual PNGs. Which honestly is scarier than most of the mod.
I think it’s funny how a lot of mods just show footage of pigs. They aren’t even eating anything disturbing, the clip in the video was just the pig sniffing another pig.
i think it's an incredible mod because the developer willingly, consciously, on purpose chose bass boosted jeopardy guessing music for the chase sequence and thought "yeah this oughta scare the player"
That cake is GROWING😭✌🏾
22:50 funny enough the wiggly worms are SUPPOSED to be maggots, but i think the mod author got confused because those are harmless cute little meal worms! Theyre very common treats for chickens and other animals, and are the larval form of tiny little beetles. You can actually eat meal worms, sort of like how people eat BBQ crickets
10:40 Not only did he fall for it again, he blames the mod for axolotls spawning in lush caves, famously the only place that they spawn
How big does the cake get?? 👀👀
I feel like this mod either doesn't know what it wants to be or is trying to be everything at once, horror mod-wise. Also, you can't make a "YOU were the monster all along" twist when the player character is just a player avatar. Telling me that I killed my wife and kid isn't much of a horrifying revelation when I've just been real life me playing a video game the entire time.
Waow, that is some sort of evil hunter, perhaps from the caves below these lands? This is quite a wonderland, although the script is broken. I have lost my house and my rod... stuck in the flywheel of terror... but I must still be a baron of something.
"You slaughtered your pregnant wife" fucking sent me, these mod makers cannot be serious lmao
i love how the mod fully spoils the whole story at the end in the edgeist way with no world building nor build up whatsoever 10/10
One thing that Ive seen nobody acknowledge is that the sped up Jeopardy audio comes from a popular FNaF Ransomware video, making it even less scary because its not an original sound created for this mod 😭
Honestly my biggest issue with this mod is that the ritual aspect has nothing to do with the actual story. Idc about anything else, whatever. Why tf is there an eeeevil ritual.
I think the mistake that people make when making horror Minecraft mods is using textures and assets and sounds incongruous to Minecraft. I'm never going to be scared of a character model like the Hunter because it doesn't look like it belongs in Minecraft. I'm never going to be scared of distorted Jeopardy music because it's clearly Jeopardy music. I'm never going to be scared of a bunch of worms because that's dumb. That's why the dirt, planks, and cobble, and the "it is x blocks away" work the best - because they do not break the art style or general feel of Minecraft
How many blocks is the entity away from you? A: 1000 blocks B: 350 blocks C: 200 blocks D: 500 blocks (insert the base boosted jeopardy theme)
Pigs being used in horror is so funny to me. It's such an overused thing like "ohhh the corpses were fed to the pigs ahhhh". As if the pig was the problem and not the Evil, Twisted Murderer.
I truly think that the sequence of turning everything to rot in the world, including your inventory, could have been done as a sort of fake out to instill dread while still giving the player a chance. Just turning their items to useless mush gives them no chance, however using that sequence as JUST a scare would be awesome. Perhaps if the game created a secret savestate *right* before the sequence happens, everything goes to shit, you feel hopeless, and then suddenly you're back to where you were with all your stuff as if you hallucinated the entire thing. Maybe take that as an opportunity to turn certain items to rot like turning any crosses they had to rotted bones or something. Just enough to scare and put dread in the player, while still giving them a fair shot to continue towards the ritual. I'm not a mod creator though, so idk
