Not sure i would call a bunch of tacks "welding". But i guess you don't have to look at it, kinda like turning the lights off lol

Valved exhausts are 100% the way to go. I’ve had many performance exhausts in the past and ended up growing to hate them. I have a custom Varex valved muffler on my Nissan Titan paired with a smart controller. When I’m past 50% throttle, the valve opens and I get that cool V8 sound. When I’m cruising the valve is closed and it’s whisper quiet. Truly the best of both worlds.

The old man in me wants a nice exhaust but the highschooler in me still cuts corners so I powered the servo via cig port Instead of hardwired 😅

mk4 golf R32s have a flap in the exhaust that’s controlled via the ECU. Beyond a certain speed or rpm and it opens for more noise. Some people like to mod it so it stays open all the time. Mine is sticking a bit so when I pull up at the lights it’s throbbing away and then seems to remember it’s in a residential neighbourhood and suddenly quietens down.

That hanger was super clever and just as good. Hangers rot at the weld and yours wont.

The only thing standing between you and your dream exhaust is learning to weld 😂

You should clean the metal after every single tack weld you make, not cleaning it causes your next tacks to overtop of a layer of oxidation causing it to be weak and fail.
That exhaust bracket was genius
Came for the car stuff stayed for the humour
Came out straight just like me had me rollin
