I'll write this out here as I don't think I made it clear enough in the video. I'm aware that the car in iRacing is a slightly different version to the one we drive in NLS. In my opinion, it's actually a good example of how difficult it is to compare sim racing with real life. We already run different tyres and dampers compared to a regular Cup car (plus we have a slightly older model), so we're kind of comparing apples to oranges from the start. The main takeaway is that the overall characteristics of the cars are very similar. The only thing that stands out to me is that the iRacing version is capable of matching real-life GT3 lap times. I think it just needs slowing down a little.

I wonder if the "it's a little bit too fast compared to your real car" has to do with the fact that I believe the Cup car in iRacing is based off a Porsche cup series car, where (correct me if I'm wrong) in real life cupcars at the Norschleife all run the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (PETN) spec. I believe that is a considerable bit heavier

The reason it feels too fast is because it's the 992.2 cup car and not the 992.1 that you drive irl. The 992.2 has about 10-15 more horsepower, it has slightly bigger brakes, they added louvers on the front fenders and added a new front lip for more downforce, and they made changes to the front undertray. Great video as always jimmer but that's why it feels so much faster

iRacing is the best racing sim, doesn't mean the physics are the best, but damn it does the racing aspect well
