I'd heard about Jolly Nice, a farm shop with its own drive-thru (or drive through!) in Stroud, so Hugo and I jumped in the car to see whether it really lived up to the hype as potentially the most gourmet one in the UK. What we found wasn't just another drive-thru. From luxury hot chocolate and chocolate milkshakes to burgers, loaded fries, pheasant nuggets, Scotch eggs, sausage rolls and homemade cakes, it completely changed the way I think about drive-thru food. You two know we NEED the curry house version now too, yes?!
I imagine most people’s first experience of eating pheasant is relatively near to somebody called Hugo.
Hugo has the best job! 🍴
I genuinely didn't expect to come away thinking this had completely changed my idea of what a drive-thru (drive through!!) could be. Have you been somewhere like this? If you know another amazing farm shop, drive-thru or food destination that's worth the road trip, let me know below! I bet there's some great ones in the USA! I'm a bit distracted by the fact you drive a mini (a fact I love by the way!) but these Mini Meander videos of just going out and about, be it to grab ingredients, or to grab drive-through to compare to what you're cooking, are absolutely great! It honestly feels like a bit of an evolution from where you started, just cooking nonsense in your little kitchen, barely knowing what you're doing most of the time, to now having a dedicated kitchen, all these wacky things, a very close and older family, even now a comrade behind the camera! It's like a step from all the times your kitchen moved around inside the house, to now outside in it's own building, to now recording adventures into the wider world, I'm absolutely loving this!
Barry putting Stroud on the map! If you're up there again you must try Winston's ice cream. They make their ice cream from the milk of the local dairy cows.
weird to see you out of the kitchen, maybe this could be the start of a new series where you and Hugo go out and try interesting food places
Hugo been a great addition to the channel. good work lads
You two know we NEED the curry house version now too, yes?! ......
I think Hugo is a brilliant addition to your channel I love how you always get him involved with everything
This was our nearest shop for a while. Lovely to visit from time to time. But for everyday - jolly expensive.
I feel sorry for the guy who had to prepare your KFP bites ....it's not easy being a pheasant plucker.....it's even worse when he isn't available and his son has to stand in for him....
this is fun! i am looking forward to more barry and hugo adventures outside the kitchen! (but not too much to keep it interesting)
I love this bloke you’ve got working with you now, he’s great
They should’ve done a spicy dip for the KFP bites called ‘Gunshot Sauce’!
this geniunely feels like doc and marty going through a drive through in an alternate universe
The size of sausage rolls wow and the scotch egg looked amazing too live to far away to visit it, two of my most favourite foods.
More eating out! Would rather see some smaller places, but this looked great.
I love how Hugo just inhaled the brownie, it was obviously that good! 😆
Hugo really helps the channel. He seems very grounded and balances out the sometimes-very-over-the-top reactions very nicely. Top stuff =)
