After he died, his power remained inside his twenty fingers, which became cursed objects. Anyone who eats one of the fingers risks becoming Sukuna's vessel. Another important person is **Kenjaku**, an ancient sorcerer who can switch bodies by moving his brain into different people. He's spent hundreds of years planning to evolve humanity using cursed energy. Yuji Itadori is an ordinary high school student until he eats one of Sukuna's fingers to save his friends. Sukuna ends up living inside Yuji, but Yuji is somehow able to stay in control most of the time. Because of this, *Satoru Gojo* brings him to Tokyo Jujutsu High instead of having him executed right away. Yuji teams up with *Megumi Fushiguro* and **Nobara Kugisaki**, and together they learn how to fight curses while collecting Sukuna's remaining fingers. The main sorcerer families are the Gojo Clan, Zenin Clan, and Kamo Clan. These clans have powerful inherited techniques and hold a lot of influence in jujutsu society. Each sorcerer can have a unique Cursed Technique. Some of the strongest abilities include Domain Expansion, which creates an area where the user's attacks almost always hit; Reverse Cursed Technique, which heals injuries; Black Flash, which greatly strengthens an attack through perfect timing; and Binding Vows, which increase power by accepting restrictions. Gojo and Geto were once best friends. They were assigned to protect Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel, but failed after Toji Fushiguro attacked them. Gojo survived and unlocked even greater power, while Geto lost faith in humanity and eventually became a villain. During the Shibuya Incident, Gojo was sealed inside the Prison Realm, many sorcerers were killed, Sukuna took control of Yuji's body for a time and caused massive destruction, Mahito was defeated, and Kenjaku revealed his true plan. Kenjaku later began the Culling Game, a deadly battle across Japan where sorcerers and reincarnated fighters had to compete and earn points. Yuji and the others fought to free Gojo and stop Kenjaku's plan. After Gojo was released, he fought Sukuna in one of the biggest battles of the series. Sukuna won after an extremely difficult fight. The remaining sorcerers united against Sukuna, and Yuji eventually played the biggest role in defeating him. Kenjaku's plan to merge humanity with Tengen was stopped before it could be completed. Other important lore includes the Six Eyes and Limitless, which make Gojo one of the strongest sorcerers ever; the Ten Shadows Technique, which allows Megumi to summon powerful shikigami; Heavenly Restriction, which gives people like Toji incredible physical abilities in exchange for cursed energy; and the Death Paintings, human-curse hybrids that include Choso. Yuji was created as part of Kenjaku's long-term plan, making Choso technically his brother. Throughout the story, the main themes are sacrifice, fate, and how people choose to use their strength.
