I remember Pavel slashed someone , early 90s. Almost chopped their arm off. Cant remember who it was , but Bure said afterwards that he doubts that guy will ever cheap shot him again. He was a target when he came into the NHL. He very quickly showed he wouldnt be intimidated. Hail Pavel .

Messiers elbow on Modano was pretty epic.. then the stretcher incident made it even more memorable.

Love it. My man Pavel taking care of business. Now if only Messier would have received the same treatment

Churla was bad but he also played at the same time as Fetisov, Nazarov, and Ulf Samuelsson. They’d end someone’s career without a second thought.

As a kid, I was so mad at Pavel. Older and wiser, I applaud him. Churla had it coming.

I was at that game when it happened. Yes. Churla was a no talent captain of the Stars. Pavel was at the peak of his success. Nobody can stop his speed. But if you can get under his skin. And get him off his game. Then the Stars had a chance. Too bad Pavel got an elbowing penalty for that. But the Canucks won that Round. Too bad he wasn’t knocked out. Shane was a pain in the ass. He was a cheap shot artist. Makes up for the lack of skills.

The 90s were a very dark time for the NHL. I mean, you could basically get away with murder out there.
