I think Jason knew where you were because of the killer instinct still working through the invisibility. Scratch marks are hidden btw. Sound is not though.

killers can hear that shining sound when you go invisible. It is very loud

It should be mentioned as Survivor, when you get the Invisibility Meal-Set, not only can the killer still hear your footsteps and see you push grass around like Freddy and Jason, but the sound effect that plays when a Survivor is invisible is also clearly audible to the killer in close proximity alongside the sound being directional, so the killer can still find out where you are if you try to become invisible right in front of them. Usually the best way to use the invisibility that I found is running Light-Footed from Ripley, Sprint Burst and Quick and Quiet from Meg, and Dance With Me from Kate. Lighted-Footed makes your Footsteps quiet while you are healthy, Quick And Quiet to vault quietly while invisible to throw off a killer (Although it will deactivate Light Footed temporary when performing a Fast Vault) and then Dance with me to remove your scratch marks for 5 seconds.
