Why don't those scientist just eat that mushroom π, they will be able to find the solution
FOR THOSE WONDERING: *This is Lanmaoa asiatica mushroom. Widely eaten in China's Yunnan Province for its savory flavor,* this wild bolete can cause bizarre "Lilliputian hallucinations"βvisions of tiny, pint-sized elves or miniature human figuresβif eaten undercooked.
"Not me vibing with the elves"πππ
Mario has been quiet since this dropped.
Even the elves are confused about why they're here. π
Smurfs were created this way it seems.
That explains why Tweek saw those elves in that particular episode of South Park.
For Those Who Not Know The mushroom famously known for causing hallucinations of tiny elves and miniature humans is Lanmaoa asiatica, locally known in China as jian shou qing (meaning "see-hand-blue"). It is a wild bolete mushroom with a brick-red cap and a stem that instantly bruises bright blue when touched or sliced.
Theory 1) people who eat know that this mushroom causes it so that causes it. 2) somehow mushroom makes you halicunate your species but much smaller. Or 3 my favorite. Its magic mushroom that makes you see into magic veils that prevents us from seeing little elfs
Itβs possible they are aware/told by someone beforehand that little elves will appear and thatβs exactly what their brain does.
The fact that scientists still don't fully understand it is terrifying ππ
"Common side effects" in a nutshell
Thank you, animators, as a mycologist for being accurate enough to make the mushroom seem a Bolete, true to the mushrooms Irl genus (it is a bolete but not a boletus)
Ok zack what will we animate today

Making a child high on mushrooms at christmas would be crazy

This happens to me all the time at 3 AM. Thereβs a little garden gnomes that raid my kitchen and do the little garden dance and I always have to yell at them to get all my house because they always raid the kitchen.
This mushroom causes hallucinations and is called Lanmaoa asiatica, also known as jian shou qing, but it only causes hallucinations if itβs undercooked or raw. Hope this helps
