Its meant for your wallet, or id cards, or something similar. I had a Chevy Aveo, had a little I.D. card slot right there. Kept my Xerox I.D. badge in it. Only had to use that badge to access Ft Bragg. Was a very handy place to keep it. Top half of my face got sun faded after a couple of years.

Fun fact, they started puting stickers with crossed out phones on this pocket after this went viral. The new ones completly fixed this problem by femoving the pocket or something, I don't remember what exacly.
