Nintendo's latest update to MKWorld means for first 20 seconds of the race, any position can obtain very strong items! Does this ruin Mario Kart? Or is it secretly a good balance change? This is my video covering the new update: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_jdUV5__fo Full Guide on how to WIN more in Mario Kart World: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nx35J4Muqy4 How to do ALL the best shortcuts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MroDtkfhY0 How to play regular tracks online: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLIt4s7NKM0

Anything but adding normal 3 lap races to world wide
Dark sky represents how no one gets stars at the start of the race and instead you get boos, which are both usually associated with the dark
I ride my indoor bike while watching your videos and I've noticed that when you are intentionally slow I subconsciously slow down too. If you're pushing for first or in a tight spot at the finish line I subconsciously go so much faster. This is a very small sample size but I was absolutely KNACKERED by like 20 mins into this video because you spent more time in first or actively pushing for first. Keep it up and I'll be so fit 😂
Reducing Mario's integrity stat is the most notable change in this update
Dark = Short, Sky = Cat, Onika = Burgers
Bobby Fischer famously said Chess would be a perfect game if it weren't for the stale opening situation, so he created a variant of Chess in which your back row started with randomized positions so that you couldn't default to the same stale opening plays and had to evaluate more on the fly from the start, which would naturally transition into the much more interesting mid to late game of Chess. This in his opinion fixed the biggest problem, how boring Chess is at the start of the game, while maintaining the best parts of Chess, how you have to play around your opponents and think about the board state later in the game. I just think that's an interesting story.
Triple Mushroom Boo is the new Triple Mushroom Star
4:48 clearly it was for lil old me 😊
Dark Sky = no stars Item change making stars virtually unavailable in the beginning is why.
I think this also makes perfect sense as a solution. Everyone is slowing down anyways to get the same items so why not just give it to everybody so they can drive forward. The other reason is because items are also somewhat distance based so if everyone’s already so close together, why should one person get worse items just for being slightly more in front than someone in the back.
Something interesting about how the system works right now is becuase boos are more common, when you get a good item higher up, it also has a good chance at getting stolen. This could equalize the playing field on some occasions.
0:12 secret tool that will help us later ahh
I think it's really cool how nintendo has been so active in the changes they're making to this game. They know what the main issues are, and they're not afraid to address them directly. I know that this has led to some friction when Nintendo's view of the perfect MKW differed from the players' (routes in worldwides), but it's so much better than them just ignoring issues or making tiny changes to make things slightly better.
As 25 shrimps, 25 seconds isn't a lot.
One thing I love about Shortcat is that he labels the pros and cons to MK World updates without whining a whole lot like other YouTubers I've seen. He does quite the opposite, actually, having fun while listing them off.
5:56 "geometry dash" holy gd reference
Speaking as someone who played a lot at release and fell off, this update genuinely looks like it might bring me back in with how much less stale it makes the gameplay
Your username just reminded me of the game Darkened Skye, a 2000s fantasy game thats literally just an ad for skittles
22:52 actually made me flinch, that is terrifying
I’ve been enjoying the past few videos so much that I’ve forgotten to continue my 140-day streak of commenting on Shortcat’s videos asking him to confirm that he’s J Perm!
