dawg Nintendo really looked at Bowser taking 3 business days to accelerate and said 'fine here is 0.7 seconds back' 💀 and lightweights are still clearing them lmaooo
Crazy how Nintendo's actual solution to bagging was "Screw it, we ball" lmao
I like how their way to discourage bagging was to just make the unpredictable results you'd get with bagging intentional
The concept of the anti bagging distribution is awesome they should just limit the item pool to single mushroom adjacent pool or worse across the board
26:03 average respawn shortcut
Nintendo: Adds two entire ramps to fix the lava section. everybody else: Proves it's still faster to literally just drive around it. > Nintendo: 👁👄👁
Learning about respawn shortcuts is like having a pro golfer tell you, "sometimes it's better to sink your ball into a lake because the local official doesn't understand how dropping a new ball is supposed to work." Like, cool that the net effect rewards intimate game knowledge, absolutely infuriating when you learn the pros haven't even been playing the same course as you.
I’m so glad we’re getting more rallies, if they keep up with the quality of the new rallies KO tour will definitely rise up as the problem of playing the same rally 4 times in a row becomes less of a problem. A genuine thanks Nintendo from me for this!
DK and Bowser look so happy to be actually relevant! I'm excited to see what the new ralleys with be like, with these two being defintely more thought out than the previous.
I think portraying respawn shortcuts as positive for people who are for frontrunning, for an unintuitive mechanic not intended to let you get distance, is very silly Mr. Cat. :-p
26:05 Dude I lowkey thought that was real for a sec 😭😭
Liking respawn shortcuts just because they benefit frontrunners isn't a good idea IMO. If they should exist to benefit front-runners, then they should be intuitive. Maybe if they added a sign that said "jump off the map here for a shortcut". But that sounds silly. Shortcuts shouldn't be hidden behind unintuitive game design (in this case, glitches). And they also should make sense in the game world, Lakitu doesn't have a soft-spot for front runners. Instead, perhaps there should just be shortcuts that only front-runners can take that make sense in the game world, like helicopters or the jet-skis that are on some routes. Or maybe ground shrooms or ground stars that don't respawn being placed in strategic spots.
I have a feeling the reason everyone has the same speed on rails is because they don't want fast builds catching up and bumping everyone off. Though I'm not sure how much it would actually happen if the difference were just what the new glider changes are.
16:14irst time shortcat saying 'thanks nintendo' because of it's really good
late night shortcat wowza
I guess they had to wait for Pride Month to end before releasing new straight roads.
26:05 Amazing cut XD
What I can guess from the water one is that sometimes shaking the controller when nearing a wave would just make you do a hop (which is usually impossible anywhere else with just shaking) and not a trick. I think this was trying to address that issue.
im all for nerfing respawn shortcuts. I'm a firm believer that in order to get the fastest times, you should be playing the game as it was intended to the best ability.
At the beginning everyone is together anyway, so near equal chances for items with a slow fall off the more you are ahead seems like a good idea. Now, I think the item pool is too big at the start, there shouldn't be like tripple mushrooms there. Buuuut I like the direction.
