As long as we Africans keep trying to find excuses for our mistakes instead of fixing them, we will never have a bright future. We blame others and create conspiracy theories about FIFA to lie to the world; and more importantly, lie to ourselves as a form of temporary comfort!

When Senegal went 2-0 up, I was so sure the game was done and so happy. I left the screen for a few minutes and it was 2-2, at that point I knew the script had been flipped. Same with DRC, the moment they lost that goal advantage, that was it. Too sad, especially when you see the quality of the African teams in this World Cup, you can tell they have the potential to go farther into the tournament. I genuinely had hopes this might the year we finally see an African team in the World Cup semis, maybe we still can. But seeing Senegal lose the game in that manner was a painful watch. Adika, you’re so right on point, if we can fix this mentality issue, we can actually go very far.
