My wife had a job like this. 80% of the time she just sat there, other 20% she was a data analyst. Using 25 yr old software that no one in the company knew how to use. Her free time was spent online browsing and learning to speak Swedish. It was a Swedish company so integration was more important than actual value.

Considering that I know a guy who actually started an argument as to why he had been on the front cover of the last 8 quarterly in house magazine updates, whilst other people hadn't been even so much as in it anywhere. Even the guy managing the place hadn't been in all 8 editions. He figured as he was only 1 of 3 black people, he was being chosen for diversity needs. He wasn't happy and refused to do anymore, he didn't want to be thought of as the diversity hire. They started using the other 2 alternating afterwards.
