Don’t be afraid to challenge the actions of the TSA if it does not follow the written policy. You are not required to use TSA approved locks and they need a legitimate reason to force access into your case. They cannot just cut your locks. Whoever it was that cut those locks needs to be the one charged with felony theft of a firearm.

Stealing a gun is a felony. Even if you work for TSA. They get too comfortable stealing phones and jewelry with no consequences, guess someone decided to push it and steal a gun.
Those police are very calm after hearing a FIREARM was stolen in an airport. Who knows what said person will do with that firearm.
He should have called the FBI and reported his firearm being stolen in the airport.

TSA hires a bunch of theifs and lets them go through everyone's stuff and is surprised when stuff like this happens. Hope he got his firearm back but I doubt it

This happened to me at Dallas DFW. I was surprised to see the Airport security director and several personnel apologizing. I was just concerned that my handgun could have been stolen.
Of course the guy stole it. TSA agents are down there with time share sales people.
Call the FBI tell them a gun was stolen in the airport. And then say you're going to call the local news to let everybody know. Just watch how fast federal agent starts stepping and fetching.
The cost of the firearm should come out of the guys paycheck that cut the lock in the first place.
TSA scallywags cut my pelican case trying to get to my FA. I had three diff private locks on it (3 diff keys). The attempt failed and TSA paid me 1.5x the cost for my damaged case (retail price). I took pix/vid of the case in the airport prior to handing it off. When i landed my case was phuk'd up. Smh
