Yes Gus, no one is questioning his legacy as a player or his motivation to coach. We are all observing that as a Coach, he is clearly being outclassed by Slater on almost every aspect of his game plan.

Champion player doesn't always transfer to a great coach.

Gus, you’re talking to adults and League fans, invested one’s - don’t lecture us! He’s not being attacked as a character, but as a coach. We are capable of retaining him in our minds as one of the great players while at the same time questioning his ability to coach and questioning his repeated selection as coach with such a dismal record. If he played like he coaches we wouldn’t be having this lecture. Fans of NSW are entitled to have say or even demand change - we are your currency, remember that.

As a Queenslander i remember him. I was only a kid but he was a great player. I loved the Green Machine too, what a team they were. But great players dont always translate to being good coaches.

Laurie Daley was a fantastic player- certainly the best I ever played against . But : Laurie Daley is a poor coach .

We know Laurie Daley was a great player for the blues. That's not the issue. The issue is he can't coach and for some reason they continue to back him every time he gets exposed.

Gus is such a condescending prat. We all know very well what a great player Laurie was. However, he's won one series in 6 attempts as a coach, and the only reason it's not 7 is that Kayln Ponga got himself sent off. And it's not like he's faced QLD teams full of future immortals; his selection and bench rotations at times have been bizarre and tactically Billy Slater has coached rings around him.

Gus is up himself if he thinks Laurie Daly was the best blues origin player. What an insult to all the other great blues origin players eg Steve Mortimer, Andrew Johns, Peter Stirling just to name a few.

What Laurie did as a player has nothing to do wiith what he is doing coaching . Two differant subjects
