Keeping in touch with John, Sam's actor, makes sense cuz they worked together for almost the entire span of the series, but Kit and Richard only had 1 episode of scenes together at the very beginning of production. Just cool they still keep in touch despite them not working together for long at all

The thing is, the actors all clearly hated the ending, and arguably the last 2/3 seasons as a whole.. they devoted a huge portion of their life to one of the best shows of all time, only for it to be rug pulled from them at the end. Staying in touch with everyone probably brings up all those negative emotions they felt at the shows end.
