In this exclusive early gameplay showcase, we're starting from the very beginning and building our community from the ground up. From choosing our first facilities and managing survivors to gathering resources, crafting, upgrading our base, and making the tough decisions that will shape the rest of the playthrough, this is a true look at how the early game comes together. This isn't a developer walkthrough or a heavily edited overview—it's full gameplay, showing the systems as they naturally unfold. You'll see how survivor management, base building, skills, crafting, resource gathering, and community progression all work together to create the foundation for long-term survival. If you've been wondering what it's actually like to start a new community in State of Decay 3, this is the closest look yet. Let me know what stands out to you the most and what you'd like to see covered next. Your feedback has been incredible throughout this series, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts! Thanks for watching, and if you enjoy the video, don't forget to like, subscribe, and share it with other survivors!

Overcoming negative traits is goat tier system
SoD players: "This is my favorite survivor." The game: 💀
I wish cars used an inventory tetris system. it always bothers me that a rucksack of building materials takes up as much space as a bottle of pills
Negative Trait changing into positive is awesome, better than exiling or killing them
I'm more excited for SoD 3 than GTA 6
Brian is doing the Lord's work with these gameplay drops. Im soo hyped to see more from this game. I feel like I've waited eons for updates

This is literally the meat and potatoes of sod for me...I love building up my community and survivors from the ground up so I'm happy to see that it's back and better than ever...Thanks undead labs and Brian...I still can't wait to play the game😭🙏
Cant believe how good this game even in early alpha is... its really a dreamgame!
Man the guys over at UL must really love Brian lmao
When call of duty devs speaks of change, it's a new Ghost Skin... When Fifa devs speaks of change, they change Messi's hair... But when Undead Labs speaks to CHANGE... They DELIVER
This Legend is providing more SoD3 content than the Actual devs. By time release nears, we won't even need to watch anymore trailers or "Get Ready For The Third Place" info dumps 😂
"Thought you guys would understand with it being in early access" Bold of you to assume that people would use their brain
Lets go! Take my money, give me new sod3! Please
The transfer all mechanic from anywhere around the base is such a sick QoL upgrade!
I hope you can see the NPCs working at the specific jobs and harvest sites you’ve assigned them to, after you've transported personnel and equipment from the base to the harvest site... that magical "one button press and everything is just done" approach might be easier, but it feels kind of weird, for the sake of immersion. But from a gameplay perspective, it would also be cool if I had to help Kristine defend Lake Float, or something like that.
It would be a nice addition to have the car on or off. On and idling means subtle noise but quick getaway. Off means no noise but an additional 1-5 seconds depending on vehicle type, age and health. Thoughts?
You're right! You'd think people would understand that the UI is a placeholder just by looking at it, but people are people. Can't wait for this game to come out.
