The old bar owner did eventually pass way in season 11 episode 4 Herrmann and Mouch receive a package at the firehouse and learn they were explicitly named in Spiro’s will. The "unexpected gift" turns out to be an antique beer stein from the original bar. Herrmann initially expects the worst given Spiro's chaotic past, but it serves as a touching final nod to their shared history with Molly's.
