There has been a lot of hoopla surrounding War Thunder and its overall health. With recent controversies surrounding the use of AI, overpowered premium vehicles, ignorance of feedback, and lack of content, many suspect that War Thunder isn't doing so well. Is that the case, and what can be done to make the game better? Check the channel "About" section for the link to the creator of my profile picture. Thank you for the analysis larpston
War thunder's biggest flaw by far is not having any real competition.
I still remember years ago when you could get random talisman's for techtree tanks a lot more frequently. The last time i got a talisman from a rewards box was probably 2020
they’re just done listening to us
Maybe if they increase the grind, raise prices, or do less about spawn camping the player numbers go up?!
Just imagine the game dies and the servers get shutdown. All the hundreds or even thousands of hours lost.
This game had so much potential. They turned it into a premium copypaste slop fest with basically one or two gamemodes
I got spooked when this was uploaded
I wanted to play WT one night this week, I opened up thr game and just looked trough techtrees, line-ups, and thought that if I join a match right now nothing would be different, same cycle of trying to get kills and win matches to grind the next vehicle, same repetitive gamemodes, same idea, different map, and after 5 minutes of just staring at nothing I closed the game and played something else. There is nothing new, just the same gamemodes and grind, and there are so many suggestions from players on gamemodes but they just don't listen to these ideas, or they straight up don't listen to the playerbase. I used to enjoy a lot playing this game when I was younger, now it's just tiring.
Gaijin has absolutely zero reason to not ease the grind. For Pete's sake, they have over 3000 vehicles
Last night I was in a match at 8.3 with the gepard, and I saw 6 t58's on ONE side of the map
as one of those ex-players, there are several reasons for quitting: -a single premium tank cost as much as full price game (wtf man 🤣) -if you ever installed enlisted, you simply start to hate gaijin, cause every click in the menu sends you to the shop. -the grind is ridiculous. -30% of games are one-sided stomps. -in those stomps, you notice how one side has a surprising amount of premiums in it, while the other is close to f2p exclusively.. but thats probably just a coincidence *cough cough* -the game becomes less fun the higher you go in the tree. the sweats become way too much. -no decent PvE mode, just a slapped together shooting gallery with rewards so low, that people can actually bleed silver lions. there is way more, but that alone ensures casual players will never stick around.
You know the situations bad when one of the biggest wt youtubers make a rant video
21:45 its the normal part of the internet, if youre too nice youre a shill, if youre too happy youre on drugs, if you complain youre a complainer, no matter what you do someones gonna find an issue with it
Frankly, I've been deeply hoping that someone would make a warthunder equivalent, because the moment anyone does, and the game will immediately implode, because the only reason the game continues to be played is because there is no other game that does the same thing. Sure, there are similar games, but none that truly appeal to the same playerbase. Gaijin purely profits over having no competition, and the moment they have any, they will be done. And god I can't wait.
10:17 rest in peace the old stat card images
T-80s have invisible 0-spall armor plates around their ammo racks that aren't visible on in-game models
For the money, each premium viggen costs more than a full fidelity and completely simulated viggen in dcs
gaijin be doing anything but not taking community suggestions is what kills it
7:50 Also their output used to be higher. We used to get 20-30 planes per update, often double that, plus 15-20 tanks between 2014 and 2018, all of which at low to moderate tiers. Now we get maybe a dozen total, and half are top tier premiums. All while long promised features like bomber cockpits still aren't present. There are still a plethora of WWII era vehicles they could add. Hell, the Junkers 52 got passed to devs in 2017 with over 400 votes on the community forum. Yet it's bomber variant was never even considered.
