Didn’t watch the video yet but the answer the question. Baffles, it’s meant to disrupt the flow of gas/air as to deafen the sound of the exhaust. As it slows it down it makes it a lower harder to carry pitch. It’s why a lot of old cars especially are throaty but don’t carry super far
