I just want to say, China is just breath takingly beautiful and the people are unbelievably kind. The villages you go through are just idyllic. Some people would believe this country is a dystopian hellscape, but you've shown that they are no different from Western countries, hiking clubs, people who have truly mastered their crafts and passions, people that choose to live in rural areas for a simple peaceful life etc. We are all the same <3 Ignore the people trying to divide us all.
The man is really leading a philosophical life using his alone time as an active laboratory for the mind. He's not alone, he is conversing with nature.
You literally went on a legendary quest to find the wise elder on top of the mountain and gain his wisdom. Cool stuff man.
