This aggressive push to the ultimate edition and the empty case feels like the type of corporate bs that GTA used to parody and make fun of.
UPDATE: Sony is apparently scrubbing all social media posts that describe PlayStation as "The best place to play." Wouldn't be surprised if their lawyers got angry with the marketing department on that one. UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: They're now reposting "The best place to play" posts, HOWEVER, they've swapped out the picture of the PS5 to show a disk-less one instead of one with a disk drive. Which is honestly pretty funny considering GTA 6 has no physical disk. Someone got yelled at lmao
If there is no disc in the case, then it isn't a physical copy. It's a digital copy with extra steps.
The ritual of opening your physical box and the click as the disk comes out the housing is dying
So, GTA 6 truly is $100 after all.
People need to change how they phrase the price. The standard version is 100$ and the lite version is 80$.

crazy we went from nothing but hype to complete controversy in just a matter of hours
after rockstar canceled story DLC for the last GTA to put all their resources into the money-printing machine of GTA online. and then abandoned RDR2, including its online, to CONTINUE wringing money out of GTA online. how can anyone think theyre not corporate slop? ROCKSTAR has become an example of the nastiest greediest traits of the entire games industry.

Rockstar can push harder on pricing than other studios and get away with it. We know this. I’m worried that “other studios” are not as aware of this.
Don't be surprised when the biggest video of all time with the biggest budget of all time is also the most monetized game of all time.
No gameplay, no phyical version. It really will show you just blindly buys something and hates thinking.
They've created this terrible dichotomy where they have to supply value for the extra $20, meaning the exclusive items have to be so good that people feel satisfied with buying the ultimate edition, while at the same time making the regular customer not feel annoyed with missing content. There is no way to do both these things at the same time
Us Aussies are actually getting priced out of gaming, $130aud for the Standard and $160aud for the Ultimate... it's getting ridiculous.
