Sergeant Johnson ❌ Sergeant Harvey ✅
Why they didn't use the Halo 2 remake Blur cutscene as a template for Johnson is beyond me. It was easily the best and most bombastic version of Johnson from the post Bungie era, instead we get a Steve Harvey lookalike with voice acting on Parr with the cursed halo mod
It’s less of a remake and more of a reimagining
Gliding over Gotham City almost makes you wish for THE ACT MAN to do a “Why Batman Arkham City Was So Awesome”
Halo studios. 343 with a mustache and glasses
Johnson sounds like he's narrating an Arby's commercial
31:57 The IRONY that Johnson, a SERGEANT MAJOR in the Marine Corps, calls the audience a soldier, and not a MARINE. That’s my pet peeve.
I think the biggest concern outside of Johnson's writing is how they portrayed chief as an answer to save everyone rather than part of a larger whole in the war to save humanity.
The self indulgent dialogue literally had the energy of "How do you do, fellow gamers?"
One of the problems that I noticed is that they treat the Chief as he was AFTER the ring was destroyed, i.e. the saviour of humanity. As you said, Halo CE was about the ring, not the Chief. To the humans and the Covenant, he was simply another weapon. A powerful one, yes, but one they had been fighting, and defeating (ex: Reach), for a while. It's only after the destruction of the ring, when the soon-to-be Arbiter talks to the council, that he achieves his Demon status, and legendary status among the humans, but he is still kept grounded. It seems that the one thing 343 has seemed determined to undermine was perhaps the most important character design of the Master Chief: "He is a big green husk for the player"
I would like to say I am not very happy they didn't give us Theater Mode for this one.
Cant believe they put a deaged Steve Harvey in a Halo game
Sergeant Johnson sounds like hes about to say EA SPORTS ITS IN THE GAME.
1:20 Not to argue against you but..... Halo 3's map cold storage on Delta Halo is honestly all the proof needed to explain the presence of the tank forms in this remake. Simply put, a flood containment/research facility went offline and the tank forms in stasis broke out on Alpha Halo.
Damn we got the sergeant Johnson from wish.
"iF yOu cOMplAiN yOU'rE nOT A fAn!!!" I hate how opinions on anything nowadays are either total glazing or total hating.
“They canonized the shitty elite designs, that’s cool!” Yet they still won’t be able to explain why Arbiter also had that same shitty design in Halo 5. Good to see 343 still not having any consistency what so ever.
Halo Studios should never write Johnson again.
Told you. 343i = Halo Studios. New coat of paint; same old issues.
