I'm a biochemist who was an EMT for 15 years, I remember being in the ER walking past another crew that had an autistic 10 or 11 year old on their gurney, and I can't remember what he said that prompted it but I stopped and told him "everything is chemicals, including you!" and then walked away and heard him bellow at the top of his lungs "I'M CHEMICALS!" Made me proud.
