Going Upstairs in the UK

Heat rises as does my anger at this damn heatwave 😂

I'm camping in my living room until further notice. If I really need to cool down I'll be in the oven.

So true, you can literally feel the difference walking up or down the stairs...

me, a brit who lives on the top floor with a skylight literally over my bed: sobs.

As someone who lives in a flat on top of another flat on top of a chip shop. Coming home hits me like the curse of a vengeful pharaoh.

People abroad always says they have it hotter and we don’t know what heat is. Trust me I’ve been to other countries and the heat in the UK is just another level of humidity and that’s the issue.

The French foreign legion turned around halfway up the stairs. The said “No, we have limits and this heat is inhumane”.

The loos in our house are only upstairs and I never realised what a horror it was to have a skylight in the bathroom until the weather started kicking off. Now I can scarcely do my morning business without sweating into a puddle.😭

Literally had to invest in an air con as I'm disabled and currently housebound. UK homes are built to hold heat so these heatwaves are a killer.

Open all windows after 8PM. Keep the curtains closed and windows closed until then.

Dont forget you can also open the loft hatch to help the hot air escape. If you're not afraid of porceli e dolls and clowns that is 😂

I open all the upstairs windows, and the back door downstairs. It drags the breeze in great. Stay hydrated peeps ❤

Top tip and one of the best. If you still want some form over cover while you sleep, get your favourite duvet cover and just use the cover. It's fantastic! Also cold water on the wrists
