Minecraft is about to ban me apparently.

Chat reporting got an exploit to ban content creators? I'm about as shocked as you guys are.

I knew one of these exploits would take over eventually, but it existing for 3 YEARS without anyone using it to this degree is insane… I hope this gets cleared up soon

Chat reporting shouldve never been global bans, it shouldve just been a tool to help you report to the server you're actively on

Remember y'all, the whole child safety that's been hitting the internet for a few years now has nothing to do with child safety and all about control and being able to trace back to *you* if something happens :)

The same thing happened with Roblox. People abused the reporting system created due to UK law to ban anyone.

i dont even care that its an unjust ban. i think the entire concept of being banned from private connections between friends is abhorrent

The list of players provided is a list of people who are explicitly anti-pay to win and about half of them don't even host public servers. this is literally just a group of jerks trying to mess with content creators ability to pay their bills. That's what this is. they know that if people who rely on YouTube can't get out enough videos they lose money. this is a targeted attack with malicious intent and a very juvenile excuse

They say they’re using exploits to target people who run P2W servers and then TheMisterEpic is on their hit list, somebody who has built his channel around using exploits to target people who run P2W servers. Make it make sense. Edit: i really should’ve put a /s on this, I do in fact know what a false flag is and that’s exactly the point I was making.

Fun Fact: There was actually an earlier incident of Minecraft Java Creators being falsely banned by the Chat Report system like last year-ish but it mostly happened to German (I think) Minecraft Creators so not many people were aware of it.

its funny how when these companies try to automate player reports they always end up creating an exploit people abuse to an insane degree, you could do the same on WoW and roblox not that long ago

Hasn't there BEEN a mod that lets you SPECIFICALLY pick and choose which parts of someone's chat log that you send in your report to try and make it look way worse than it is? I remember that was a HUGE thing people were talking about, and I haven't heard it since (or much about No Chat Reports either tbh, which I hope still works, i dont play mc much anymore)

a report system in MINECRAFT that can get you ban for something you say in PRIVATE SERVERS was already too much

Ironically this report system supposedly made to prevent hate is a system that allows hate to actually have real power.

Gotta love when something the ENTIRE COMMUNITY was warning about and was told "nah it'll be fine" proves the community right and the company wrong.

Oh boy the chat reporting system is SURELY THE GREATEST MINECRAFT FEATURE EVER! Also I'm sure from some internal mojang leaks, mojang was the one that pushed for the reporting system, NOT Microslop (oh yeah, it is most likely fake now that I look at it again)
